ParTea for Baby Scientists!

Come and join our free play sessions!

York Developmental Social Neuroscience Lab opens its play area for babies and their parents to have fun, socialize, and learn about early social development.

The free play sessions (a.k.a. ParTea(s) ) take place every 2 weeks on Wednesdays, from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm.

1- to 36-months-old infants and their parents are welcome.

Although the sessions are primarily for infants, older siblings are welcome too.

Bring a friend!

If you would prefer to not come alone, you can also bring a friend! The more the merrier 🙂

What happens during a ParTea

Babies and toddlers are free to play with the available toys.

Meet other infants and parents curious about how infants and toddlers develop during the first years of life.

Free tea, coffee and biscuits for adults.

Have a tour of our lab in case you are interested in knowing more about what we do.

You will have the opportunity to chat with our research team and ask any questions you may have about how infants and toddlers develop during the first years of life.

Important Note

This is a free play and socializing event, where parents and caregivers are responsible for their children’s safety and well being as they would do in any other socializing environment where childcare is not provided (e.g., in the park, at the library).

We are committed to ensure a safe physical environment for infants, parents and staff, by applying health and safety measures in accordance with the law and regulatory guidance.

Other useful information

ParTeas are drop-in play sessions, so interested families can come in when it is convenient for them during that time window.

For organization purposes, it would be useful however to know if you can make it. So, if you have time, please drop-us a quick email (psychology-dsn-lab@york.ac.uk) to let us know you are coming.
